Mapping Priority Service Delivery Needs in Kabarole District

Toro Development Network (ToroDev) in partnership with the local communities organized knowledge sharing workshops in the district of Kabarole to collect data on the state of service delivery in their local communities so as to assist the local authorities in planning and budgetary processes. The same activity was carried out in other districts of Kyenjojo, Kamwenge, Kasese, Kyegegwa, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo in the months of August and September, 2012. A one day workshop was held in Fort Portal town Kabarole district to collect data on the status of service delivery to assist map priority service delivery needs of the local communities.

Since October 2011, ToroDev has actively been involved in initiatives aimed at improving service delivery in the Rwenzori Region districts through empowering local grassroot communities especially the marginalized communities of rural youth and women with skills in demanding accountability from their local leaders, participation in local government budgetary and planning process, skills in monitoring service delivery, lobbying and advocacy. It should be noted that proper delivery of government services improves the livelihoods of rural grassroots communities.
