This project aimed to improve local governance in Western Uganda by empowering citizens to engage with their leaders through the use of ICT tools. The project sought to create a more participatory and accountable governance process by providing citizens with the digital tools needed to monitor government actions and communicate their concerns effectively.
Supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), USA, this project focused on enhancing citizen engagement in local governance through the strategic use of ICTs. By introducing digital platforms that facilitate communication between citizens and their leaders, the project aimed to make local governance more transparent, accountable, and responsive to community needs.
The project led to significant improvements in local governance in Western Uganda by increasing transparency and accountability. Citizens became more empowered to hold their leaders accountable, and local government officials became more responsive to community concerns. The success of this project demonstrated the potential of ICTs to transform governance processes and improve service delivery at the local level.
