ToroDev held a radio talkshow to share MML e-participation platform report and also promote the platform.

On 21st and 26th February 2018 ToroDev held district local government-CSO’s forum meetings in Kyenjojo and Kabarole districts to share the reports for the months of December 2017 & January 2018 derived from MML e-participation platform for duty bearers to pay attention to the issues generated. Also to share the outcomes of the District-CSOs meetings and here from citizens what they think about the platform.  A radio talkshow was held on 25th/ 2/2018 and was attended by Mr. Kugonza David and Mr. Amanyire Anselm from ToroDev and Mr. Nyemera Trevor  the vice chairperson LC II Kiguma Parish in Bukuuku Sub County, Kabarole district.

“We are happy that in the month of January 2018 we received 689 issues sent by Sms to MML platform where citizens participated using a pre-paid toll free code 6115”, Said David Kugonza.

David further called upon citizens to use MML platform especially youth and women since most of them don’t fully participate on ToroDev’s supported radio programs which are broadcasted late in the night.

In the month of January 2018 various issues were raised from different districts in Rwenzori region and other parts of the country such as Kiruhura and Apac districts through MML e-participation system focusing on health, education, water, economic development and other sectors. Some of the issues raised  included; lack of safe and clean water in Kiseruka parish, Kamwenge district  for the last two months, lack of safe and clean water in Buhara, Mugusu, Kabagona  and Nyabuswa Sub counties in Kabarole district, request to the district chairperson to move to the site where Bukuuku-Kiguma road is under construction because contractors blocked the culverts, etc.

During the 2 hours live discussions over 30 listeners from Rwenzori region participated through calling in to share views on MML e-participation platform and on the state of services in   their communities.

“ToroDev should print out other poster especially on the directions on how to participate using MML platform through SMS  so that they can reach people in every community this will increase the number of participants”., Said Mukwano Ssenyonjo from Mugusu Kabarole district.

“ToroDev should get ambassadors from every sub county such that MML services can reach in every sub county in the region”. Said Diclack a caller from Kyenjojo district.

“We call upon duty bearers from Karambi Sub County to work on water issues because we lack safe and clean water”. Said Joseph Arthur caller from Karambi Kabarole district.

“Health workers don’t give attention to patients and we have limited drugs at Kiguma health center II”. Said Faith Kabasomi a caller from Rwebisengo in Ntoroko district

“We don’t have ambulance at Rwebisengo health center III, can’t our Members of Parliament lobby  for one and solve that challenge”. Said Nyakato Avas  a caller from Rwebisengo sub county Ntoroko district.
