ToroDev works with media practitioners groups like RJF to citizens’ journalism and civic education on public health, education performance and mobilizing into economic livelihood improvement projects. At least twice a year, we hold reflection events with media teams to evaluate performance our partnership.

The District – CSO Forum in Ntoroko District 2019
ToroDev strives to bridge the gap between public service consumers (citizens) and local governments through bringing together civil society organizations and government technical teams. Public policy formulation and review, planing and budgeting processes are also realized through such avenues.
District – CSO Forums in Kyegegwa district 2019
In 2019, ToroDev, Kygegegwa District NGO Forum and the Community Based Services Department launched the District – CSO Forum. The development partners in the civil society are now able to use this platform to discuss how provide services to citizens better together with local government in that area.

Open Data Analytics Capacity Building
As ToroDev transitions into a new five-year strategy (2020-2025), our focus will be to critically understand and promote the role of open data (in public & private enterprises) to realize knowledge and evidence-based interventions that guarantee sustainable development processes in Uganda and the Eastern Africa region.
Citizens’ eParticipation Orientation for Technical Official in Kabarole & Ntoroko Districts
ICT platforms strengthen constructive engagements between citizens/service consumers and government officials/duty-bearers. Electronic participation platforms can reduce immensely the time, costs and other contextual limitations faced by marginalized groups of youth, women and people with disabilities to interact with their governments in policy formulation, review, planning and budgeting processes.
eParticipation Platform (MML) Orientation for Kyenjojo & Kyegegwa District Officials
Sustainable governance and public service delivery can only be realized through close and timely engagements between service consumers (citizens) and public service providers (government and its agents). ToroDev is at the centre of developing electronic/digital innovations for Ugandan local governments to achieve this endeavor.

In 2016, ToroDev initiated District- CSO Forums as avenues for inclusive planning and budgeting processes. This ensures that citizen voices and priority service delivery needs are incorporated in government fiscal plans. Civil Society Organizations play an important role to facilitate this role.
